Develop carrier-calculated shipping for e-commerce platforms like Shopify
It would make it so much easier to deal with postage with e-commerce systems if rates could be calculated automatically. Further, I believe it would bring in new customers to New Zealand Post as merchants would opt for the simplicity of using NZ Post due to such a service.

even make it a gold cart plugin which is charged for. I and plenty of others would happily pay for this integration

Items should automatically be tracked
All parcels should be automatically tracked cause it sucks web they get lost

make error messages more useful
At the moment if I want to display a custom error message I have to parse the result and check for the word Error and some of the errors are very long and unhelpful, it would be great if you could separate out the error description itself into a separate field or have a field added with the error code and list error codes on the documentation so that developers have more control over how errors are displayed.

International Rate Finder - include delivery expectations. Suggestion from a customer about to incorporate the Intl RF into their eCommerce
Thank you for the update re the API key.
I just left a message on your answer phone re a question we have. We recently installed the application to utilise NZ Post shipping information on our online shop and are ready to launch the shop but having some difficulty with one aspect: when a shopper is about to choose their shipping method (standard airmail, economy airmail, courier etc) the rates clearly show but no indication is given of the shipping time frames.
Can you please help us out with what is required to have those link in beside or near…4 votes -
Open the Delivery Branches to a more appropriate time
The New Lynn delivery branch's hours makes it impossible for some full time workers to get their packages! I work from 6am until 1pm which is exactly the hours the branch is open.
I think it is ridiculous that they expect everyone to pick up their parcels in this time. Why can they not be open later? I will not be collecting my parcel for 10 days now running the risk that it will be sent back to the sender.
When I asked for it to be moved to a post shop that is open longer my request was denied.…

add recipeints name to tracking info
How about adding the recipients name to a tracked parcel when it is handed over the counter?
I recently sent 3 tracked parcels at the same time and although i can track the parcels online i have got no idea which tracking number is for which parcel, so when a buyer requests the tracking number, i dont know which one to give them.3 votes -
Make parcel pick up depots open at a time people can pick them up! seems logical to me!
This morning i contacted the call centre when i realized i wouldn't be able to pick my parcel up after work on my way home (right now).
The woman at the call centre was very apologetic but even more unhelpful, she sugested i have someone pick it up for me whilst i work. Who? i exclaimed my whole family and all of my friends including my wife with our to young children work! If we didnt how would we ever afford to live in auckland and further more pay for a parcel to be delivered!
She went further to sugest…

keep track of registered items. What is the point of paying for registration when NZ Post has not delivered the item, cannot locate it or
Lost registered items.
When paying for a letter to be registered, you would assume the Post Office would know where it is and that it would be delivered. But no, it is lost, though the PO will not admit to that. The woman said "It is not lost, it has not been delivered, but we don't know where it is." It was intimated that the item should be courier posted, not registered.3 votes -
Add letter rates to Rate Finder API
Incorporate letter rates (for both domestic and international) into the Rate Finder as it only gives prices for parcels.
If an item being shipped internationally is under 10mm width and 200grams in weight it could be shipped as a letter instead. It would be nice to to see this option under the results from the Rate Finder.
If an item is shipped domestically and is under 20mm and 1kg I think it can be shipped as a letter. It would be good to see these options too.
That would mean the Rate Finder API is a one stop shop for…

Provide parcel size defaults (maybe by approximate 'density'?) for shops who cant estimate parcel size accurately during the online process
I cant think of an accurate way to estimate parcel size during an online shopping process, especially when packaging multiple products. We always used to predict shipping costs by weight only and dont even have item sizes.

Bug report - 22A comes up below 22/1, 22/2 etc
Tried searching for 22A methuen rd on http://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-postcode-finder/APLT2008.aspx and the correct result is 3rd in the list despite being an exact match... hope this helps improve the tool! cheers

Locator API : Clearance times
Within the data returned for the Locator API would it be possible to include the time that a Post Box is cleared ( when the mail within the post box is collected by the postman/woman). It occurs to me this is one of the main considerations as to which facility I will use to post my mail.

Issues with APF
The new address & postcode finder seems to have taken a step backwards with the latest release on 31 May. I use it constantly for my business, and I used to be able to copy and paste a complete name and address into the field, and it usually found the address. Now I have to remove the name before it will work. I guess it's not really a "bug" but it definitely seems to be not as good at parsing addresses then the previous release. I also use CourierPost, and now it just seems to tell me that many addresses…
1 voteThanks for your feedback. Disappointing to hear you think we took a step back. The latest release handles a lot more address types – but it sounds like we’ve confused the messaging around non-postal deliverable addresses. We’ve found it trickier to get right that we expected.
We’ll also look into what happened with the change to the copy/paste support – we hadn’t included test cases which included pasting names. Not committing to anything here as we have to trade off a lot of different cases and reach a good compromise.
