Initiate a professional tracking system
NZPost Tracking is a joke in this day and age, Scanned once then gets lost within the cumbersome system until potentially gets delivered. Honestly currently NZost are misleading customers when referring to Tracked Post, Tracking is not fit for purpose intended, inferior and inadequate, falsely advertised as tracked when only scanned twice. Claim procedures are hideous as well!!!!

Accurate Tracking Suggestion
Is it possible to give each courier a GPS device and then use that to give an accurate whereabouts? I mean, look at all this technology we currently have. We have to put it to some use.

Use icons/colours to quickly show a parcel status on the Tracking page
[New Zealand Post internal feedback]
So that I can easily and quickly scan down the page and see which parcels have successfully been delivered and which are in progress, or not yet left the building.

Give me a contact if there is an error with my tracking number so I can resolve it
[Feedback from New Zealand Post user testing]
Users find the user message confusing, but further more they don't know what to do if there is an error. I need a call to action - "so there's a problem, what do I do now". Point them to contact number, chat, more help etc.

PLEASE find a way to include some area info in the tracking, ie Delivered Nelson.
Courier post tracking send parcels. I need the destination shown in attempting to find homes for the under ticketing bill that arrive.

include more detail
Right now track and trace tells me my parcel has "arrived in NZ". But it arrived 2 days ago? I can't see any estimated delivery time, I don't even know where in NZ it is! The track and trace is too general, if it could tell me, "Package has arrived in NZ, at Auckland sorting centre, ETA March 2nd at 9:00am" that would be great. Also if track and trace could tell when a package is in transit would help aswel, i.e. "Package in transit from: Auckland Sorting Centre to Palmerston North". As it is, the Track and Trace system… more

allow URL parameters to prepopulate Postcode finder fields
I could add a link to the postcode finder from ecommerce app so that as people fill in their address they can jump to the postcode finder and the fields are pre-filled. Even better would be an API that returns the postcode so they don't have to leave the app.

Stay tuned – we are moving to provide a widget which will allow address and postcode lookup within web apps.

Make the text bigger, it is too small in the Tracking results
Difficult to read some of the information, especially for not very computer savvy users, quite a bit of text going on in the result so difficult to find key information straight away.
Could be resolved by another suggestion of using icons/colours for parcel statuses for quick scanning.

SMS/Email alerts when I have new post in my PO Box
In Australia, they use Mail2Day which alerts the PO box holders when they get new post. I don't get post often and then will get heaps so this functionality would help those like myself.

Thanks for this idea. This is something we have just started looking at. We are looking at options to send notifications when boxes have mail and/or when they have no mail.

Put the town the parcel was sent to next to the tracking number
As a wedding photographer I often send multiple albums in one trip to the post shop. My receipt gives me a list of tracking numbers but no way to tell which is which.
As they have recorded where the parcel is going this could be listed next to the tracking number automatically.
This would be a huge hit with trademe dealers

A button on the tracking tool where I can ok the courier to leave at my door
A leave at the door button would be great so I don't have to try to get to my local post shop during office hours.
A courier instruction feture would be great so you can advise the courier with more precision but I think this woudl be easier to implement

NZ post deliver dates should be honoured
NZ post website says to get things for Easter one needed to send by 18th. Done but hasn't been received & with no Sat delivery won't be before Easter - very disappointed we did right thing by getting sent on time so why hasn't been received? What's the point of dates if they meaningless. Will have to tell disappointed family members on Easter Sun don't have for them because NZ post didn't deliver.

Deliver Parcels as promsed and as paid for by the customer
I receive a number of parcels that do not even leave the post shop. I simply receive a card with "for postal security reasons" ticked. The postie when questioned never even loads the package for delivery. Shouldn't a company that is paid for a service, provide said service? instead i have to spend more time and money in driving to the Post Office to claim my goods, which i paid to be delivered to my house in the first place. Other courier companies sub-contract where necessary to get goods delivered.

Dont let random people sign for items
I've had an overseas item received, signed for and opened (to my horror) by a complete stranger that works in a building down from our office. The courier must have mistaken the address 3 for a 5 and unit C for Unit D. It would be ideal if the postie asked the receiver to double check the parcels details before handing it over! Or ask them to provide the phone number on the parcel and if they cant they shouldn't be able to get it. Thank god they are good people and have every intention of returning the item to… more

hi
I am very much disappointed with the NZ Post. When I had to sent a document to Canada, I have opted International Express Courier as it was assured at the Post Shop that the courier would be delivered at the destination in 2-4 days time. Since it was posted on Thursday; Friday should be the first working day and I was expecting a status change atleast by the end of the day and I started worrying when it didn’t show any status progress at all. The first thing I did on Saturday was visiting the post shop from where I… more
